Taiwan (Taipei in particular) is indeed the 2nd best Asian country to source high quality vintage pieces after Japan. I'd rank Seoul in South Korea the 3rd, if you ask :)
Taiwan was an amazing place to kick start my second hand clothing obsession. i’m planning my first trip to Japan for next year and i already know i’m coming there with an empty suitcase! can’t want :)
The Pleats Please by Issey Miyake 🥰 your curation for clothing is impeccable! Going into my 30s, I want to start curating pieces like yours and building my wardrobe with more interesting clothes like yours! Thank you for the inspiration.
I am so utterly blown away by your unique style and your, obvious, appreciation of specific designers/collections. I want to say TEACH ME!! How did you move from buying from big box stores to hunting vintage? I need your life story!
thank you Kelly!! that’s such a deep question and a great idea for another post, but to answer it shortly, a couple of things collided: my new/long forgotten interest in fashion as art which made me realize 1. i like learning about clothes and want to keep going! 2. so many amazing pieces were created long time ago and are now accessible only on the second hand market and often for a fraction of the price if you are patient and methodical. i basically no longer wanted “boring” pieces without any story to tell and i’m building my style around that idea.
i also moved to Europe with just one suitcase and started investing a lot of time (and money i used to spend on constant travel) on search for clothes, either for educational purposes or as shopping. i can’t say i’m a professional shopper or always a “best deal” finder, i developed my own inner bar of how much i’m ready to pay for what. someone will always find it cheaper and that’s ok! :)

I love I didn’t want any “boring” pieces!! You have nailed that (from what I can see) and now I’m massively inspired. Thank you!
